Categories Of Immigration – General
Information
Skilled Workers
This category is designed for those
applicants, whose education and work experience comply with
the Canadian immigration point-based selection system.
Economic Class
Entrepreneurs and investors are
selected for their business management experience and
investing capabilities. There are separate requirements for
self-employed persons, who are developing farming or work in
arts, sports, etc.
Family Class
This is a category for family members
of Canadian citizens or permanent residents - spouses,
children, parents, grandparents, common-law and conjugal
partners, dependent brothers or sisters under 22 years of
age.
Refugees
Persecuted persons in the need of
protection can ask Canadian Government for asylum. Canada is
committed to protect refugees in accordance with the United
Nations Convention on Refugees.
